Just for fun I started blocking out a revised SNW Enterprise, but I realized it's the perfect opportunity to make a Sombra class in my humble little headcannon universe. I do love the SNW Enterprise (the John Eaves concept version is the best version), but it still strayed too far from the TOS Enterprise.
I've already shown what I would do with the TOS Enterprise, so I've decided to make my own version of the SNW design, but in this universe it is the Sombra class. The smaller, older older sister to the Constitution. It will follow a similar design language to the Shepard and Ptolemy.
At last, my computer is fixed. Warranty repair queues are no joke!
Anyway, added more detail and started blocking out where I want the shuttle bay to go.
Really digging that Envoy class, it's retrofuturistic in a way I don't see much, sort of 90s low-poly (actually reminding me of Starfox) but with great texturing on it.
It's been a while since I've touched Blender. I've been completely burnt out from my 2 jobs for the past year or so, but I finally quit the evening job and then promptly ended up laid off at the day job. Life is funny that way.
Anyway, I'm trying to decide between classic or Kelvin for the Ptolemy's impulse engines. I'm partial to classic myself, but the Kelvin style might look cool.
I also did away with the shuttle bay. I want to add 2 NX-01 style bays instead, since I think it would suit the ship better. It doesn't need a lot of shuttles.
