Ok, I gotta claim dibs and be the first to say this ship resembles the Earth Cruiser from the 5th Element. And for a more obscure reference, the Earth Alliance Avenger Class Carrier from the Babylon 5 Wars game series.
Good start to it! I'm interested in what detailing you will give this one.
I'm back, rough, but back.
This is the general direction I'm heading in:
I've rescaled it, because it was just too MASSIVE, lol
Need to design a cannon specially for this one, as I'm currently using a version of the Protectorate one, but as I say - this is the direction going forward :-)
Comments welcome, more later.

Get well soon Jayru. Man, I like that Cyrathian attack ship. Makes me want to know what Cyrathian's look like.
Thank you. Getting there. Had to take today off. Might be better to wait until I'm back on my feet before doing more. We'll see. I may play around with my art brush and see what I can come up. I'm curious as to what they look like too!
I have... Quite the problem with spiders. the sort of problem that sometimes make me think, I'll burn down the house to get rid of them... Thankfully my other half is not a wuss and escorts them out of the house, lol. It's interesting that my mind went down that path when thinking about this race. I'm going to play with it a bit more, make them five-legged I think.
The Liberator from the BBC sci-fi show Blake's 7 that ran from 1978-1981. Labour of love on this one, as it's still one of the sexiest ships ever created. Now, this is finished, some time ago in fact. I did a slew of ships from the show a few years back (there is a thread on here, somewhere - but as I am keeping things simple these days...) - but one thing I have dared to dream of is happening: a resurgence of the show.
With that in mind I was thinking, what would this ship look like if the show were remade in 2024? I did have a go at that, but wasn't happy with the results. I have better ideas this time.
Stay tooned, more on this later...

It's nice to see you back around and the Liberator is looking great. I like the 2024 version so far too.
Man, Blake's 7. I only saw a few episodes in low quality some years ago, but I liked what I saw. I see that I can add BritBox as a Prime Video add-on channel to watch the show, and I might have to do it.

Have a look on Amazon for Blake's 7 the Complete Series 1 - it's a new HD BluRay transfer with remastered effects. Really pleased the Beeb have done this.

I'm on the US version of Amazon because that's where I live and I could only find DVD on there, and only in Region 2 format. I have a way around this (computer with VLC and an external DVD drive) but it's not ideal. I see from your profile that you're in the UK, where Blake's 7 is beloved and gets occasional releases. Unfortunately, it's a different story here in the United States. I'll probably just subscribe to BritBox. That seems like my best bet to watch Blake's 7. I already have Amazon Prime, so it's just a simple add on channel. Plus, I get a free 7 day trial, which is nice.

I have a feeling that this will reach the USofA:
They have remastered all 52 episodes. It will be interesting to watch. But less of that, and more 3D stuff... coming very soon.

refining things and layering up on the detail. I must start thinking about how the Blasters will look on this iteration... I have some ideas, and will no doubt come up with something in the morning. Any way, C&C welcome, more tomorrow!

Updates - the bulk of the model is built - need to add where the windows go and where the signage will be - but I can do that after I texture this monster.
Haven't measured her yet, but she will be in excess of 1000 meters, as the original is 1000 meters dead on. Anyway, pretty pics time -
And a side-by-side of the original 1978 version and my updated 2024 take -

Thank you! I have some ideas for the Astris that may end up on deviantArt. But I need to get back on my feet.
