I added some structures to the top, and started smoothing out some of the sharp edges.

Reminds me of the deep sea gulper eels…

I found a video of those to see what they are. Very weird.

The blue glowy bit has been giving me fits. It's better than it was, but it's still not right.

I like how you redesigned the area for the blue glowy bits. It looks like your glow object is reflecting on the hull, maybe that's why it's not looking how you want it.

I went through about a half dozen versions of the mid-engine area. I caused myself trouble by picking a weird shape to begin with. Then I had the cyan glowy bits cranked too high.

I absolutely adore that engine block

Thank you. I hope I haven't ruined it. I'm thinking of making the ship a reconnaissance vessel with antennae all over it.

I haven't had much time to work on this one, and most of what I get done, I keep scrapping.

I can relate, I've had modeling sessions like that. I think we all have.

I don't think I ever mentioned the name for this one. It's 'Trommel'.
I've mostly been staring at it for the past week. I think that means it's done.

Switching to updating another old design. This one is called "Angry Beanbag".

I have to be honest and say I'm not sure what to make of some of the designs, but that being said, I'm truly astounded by your immense level of creativity. It's like watching the minds of alien engineers at work, which is really refreshing imho. :)

Thank you. I really appreciate your comments.
I'm not always sure what to make of some of the designs either. They sort of just happen seemingly on their own.

I don't seem to have the knack for 'normal'. :p

I tried a more bronze-ish look. I think I'll go back to copper.

I hadn't planned on anything like sails... but... hmm.

After thinking it over, I'm going back to the original(ish) color scheme. I'm experimenting on building materials from 'scratch'.

That’s a good design, steering wise

That color scheme looks nice, it really pops with all of those nice details.

Thanks. I get a little tired of grey ships. I liked the original color scheme and tried to remake them from scratch with AutoCAD textures.

I fiddled with the lighting, added some windows in the back.

Done with it. Although I'm going to try an idea for stellar sails like publiusr mentioned.

Here's my first (maybe last) attempt at a stellar sail as publiusr suggested. I wanted to make it bigger, but my computer says "Yeah, no."

Yep - solar sails have to be ... HUGE ... to work.

That's really cool. I can relate to biting off more than your computer can chew when it comes to ambitious CGI projects.
