Thanks. I figured the lattice is for quick mounting sensors and stuff. And yes, the engines pivot.

    More details.

    Hmmm. Some parts are missing.

I need to add a few minor changes and then the interior.

This is really cool. It looks like something you could actually get in and fly. (bear in mind I'm neither a pilot or scientist) I'm looking forward to seeing the interior.

    Than you.

When I say 'interior' I really mean a few simple shapes that kinda looks like that there's something inside. When I try to do an actual interior, I usually just end up staring at the screen, wondering what to do next.

The 'glass' is doing something weird, but I'm leaving it.

There's nothing wrong with a simple and functional interior to give the ship a sense of scale. The glass looks good to me.

This is a rework of another old one. It's a yacht with a bit of whimsy, I don't know if I ever gave it a name... After a few minutes with Google I've come up with 'Caprichosa'.

It looks like lighting this thing will be a pain.

I like this design a lot. It has both fish and insect vibes.

Thanks. I think this was based on a butterfly.
I'm not sure why I keep making renders from the same angle.

I decided the six aft wings is too busy, so I returned to the original four.

True, but I think 6 is a good number for the front set. But, it's your design, so what you think is best.
  • rojrenrojren2298 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,970Member
Putting six in front blocks the windows.
I'm in the middle of a re-think on the wings.

I remember a butterfly version of this from the Web Woman cartoon…Gypsy Moth it was called.

I Googled Web Woman and Gypsy Moth. and not much came up.

I think I'm through with this.

I've been doing a year-end hard drive clear-out and file back-up, and found this ship from a couple of years ago with updated materials. It's a racing ship called 'Alacrity'.

Nice. It looks very sleek, like you'd expect a racing ship to look. I really like that hull material, particularly the color.
  • rojrenrojren2298 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,970Member
Thanks. I'm rather fond of copper too.

Found another old one that I hope to do a quick update to. This is a Temporal Probe Ship named Kalachackra. It's over 18 billion years old.

It looks like some kind of throwing weapon. Not a criticism, just an observation. I like the colors a lot.

Yeah, the glaive from... uhm... Krull.

This originally started out with four 'accelerator units' but I didn't like the 90° turn at the 'core'. After adjusting it, I ended up with five, because four is too much like a swastika, and six was too many. I also like that the odd number gives it a bit off-kilterness.

I agree, having 5 is the best way to go. I personally like asymmetry.

Working on the habitat area. Started on a space/space shuttle and a space/surface shuttle.

Something happened to this file somewhere along the way. The XYZ axiis of some parts are not exactly in the same direction as other parts. So I'm stopping here.

I like this! Kind of reminds me of something from a 90s CD-ROM game, in a good way.

    Thanks.

I'm revisiting a ship that I revisited before - and it didn't go that well. So I've undone a lot of the changes. And renamed it 'Boutant'.

(I guess that should be "Boutante" - the feminine form of the word.)

I've been spending more time on figuring out the lighting on this than I have working on the actual ship. Too dark, too light, still too dark, still too light, etc.
