    It's looking greeble-tastic so far. :)

Thanks! I'm at that stage where I do two hours of work and it shows up like a little spec. :)

Yeah, the cruel reality of doing tiny greebles on something this massive. Imagine greebling a SSD or the Death Star.

is it my imagination or does the trench along the side get narrower towards the aft of the star destroyer?

That's what it looks like, but it must be an optical illusion or something like that.

Yes, not an optical illusion - the original ANH Star Destroyer midline trench narrows as it nears the rear of the ship. :) Good eye!

    Why no vertical array?

Also, the trench narrowing has got to be a mistake in the construction of the model so I'd fix that and make it equal all along if I were you...

I was torn, and decided to keep it in TESB mode for now - I could always rotate it up I guess. :)

I know this is a really old thread, but still, I'll test my luck here. Do you recall how you went about getting the base proportions to be acccurate? Like, what did you use as reference? I'm having a hard time finding a photo I can match the perspective of properly with the tools and skill I have available but would really like to try my hand at it

Are there not 1,000 Star Destroyer orthographics around?

That is true, but I'm not quite sure if they are screen accurate proportion-wise. And maybe stonky got some reference for me that can help me
  • Amazing work! Has there been any more progress on this, Stonky?
