^^ I decided to go with option 1. I do think it flows better with the other parts.

Here is some progress on the bussards, drawing some ideas from the previous version:

Really loving the details in that Bussard.

Agree with everyone on the Bussard collectors. I like the forks, I like the number of glowing bits (not too many, not too few) and the many vanes behind them is nice added detail in a dark area.

^I'm glad! I'm quite happy with it, it took several tries to get the clear material right but it was worth it. Also those "vanes" are actually turbine blades with a light behind them. Here's what it looks like on the inside:

I had to stop myself from adding more detail, since you wouldn't be able to see it.

    Also, a preliminary animation test:

Thanks! Also yes, she will be nice and sturdy as a physical model ;)

I can't decide what orientation to use for the 4 clamp things at the front of the nacelle here. Any thoughts?

I finally got to work on this a bit more. Some more progress on the nacelle:

Chiller grills: I managed to fuse them with the main nacelle body and give it a nice bevel

Oh, I'm liking how you fused the flux chillers to the nacelle casing!

I love this the design! I can totally see this as the model for a new Star Trek series! ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿพ

Not much today, just added some detail on the bottom of the nacelles and started blocking out the rest of the ship:

    That is to die for.

Nacelle undersides donโ€™t often get much in the way of love

That is true, it was pretty bare under there.

Another small update, started on the pylons, and got them fused to the nacelle:

Holy Jesus Christ, this is AMAZING work. And here I thought I was a decent modeler. You put me to SHAME sir...to SHAME! This is an amazing reimaging of the TOS Constitution Class. I wish I could like it more than once!

    I appreciate the compliments :)

Got a little time to work on the engineering hull. As you can see I'm testing out my sub-d modeling skills. I might go back and redo the nacelles in sub-d (I'll only use it for the main body, that would be a lot of faces)

Yes, as it stands it's all quads

Your secondary hull has a deep chest-too often they are shown too fIat. This is about the size the TAS Enterprise would have to be to get that shuttlebay to fit. Kerr is working on a book to show the 947 ft version. Yours better fits the Disco Enterprise size... If I had the funds I'd fund a book called:
Swan of Many Rivers-the multi-history of the Constitution Class across the Timelines-an artist's repository

^^ Yeah she has been scaled up a bit, I'd say 10-20%.

I finally got a little more done, here is the deflector area, minus the dish of course. Progress is still slow, but I haven't given up on the old girl
