Modeled this all in the same day. That's probably a record model for me. I now need to UV unwrap and paint it.

Sweet! That's a fantastic looking model and it's from one of the best movies ever.

Not the safest of entrancepoints 😅 ... but looking sweet. Especially for one day.

I never noticed before how much this design resembles something from Chesley Bonestell.

Excellent work! Have you seen the one (and other ships) over at the Sci-Fi Airshow site? https://www.scifiairshow.com/

Alright, the "clean" paint job is done. I will also make a dirty version after re-entry seen in the film.1slq2pf6lk48.jpg

Well done. One of my favourite ships and you have nailed it. Textures look great.

Finished the re-entry version, and that should be it now.

Outstanding. You did a great job of making it look burnt, as it should.

Is the American flag on the front starboard do-dad (not sure what it really is) reversed?

Yep. I thought it was odd when watching the movie too.

It's a US Military thing. The stars are always forward, to signify how the flag looks when it's on a flagpole and you're running with it. If you've ever seen a US soldier in uniform with the flag on their right sleeve, it's done the same way. US Military planes have that too.

So, that's actually an accurate detail as far as the movie prop goes.

@evil_genius_180 ... I don’t know why this reminds me of it, but:

In the German Democratic Republic there was a rule for broadcasters to never show the coats of police officers (the Volkspolizei) flowing. So they couldn‘t run after suspects or stand in windy places if you did a cop TV show 😁
