I WILL go back to finish up the Salcombe soon, but I wanted a "simple" project to work on for the week. I almost bit off more than I could chew with the Salcombe, as my modeling skills are still beginnerish.

This is two evenings work. I'm going for Smithsonian accuracy for this.

    Is that phaser turret canon? I don't recall ever seeing anything like that on the bottom dome when I was at the smithsonian.

    Yeah it is.
    You can't see it on the TV due to low quality, but in a few episode when the ship fired from the lower sensor dome, it was coming from the canon.
    Shame they never did a close up shoot for it.

    Scifieric can give you a full history on it.
