Probably as done as it's going to get.

I like it. The details look good.

Thanks. I'm going back to the Federation ship to play with materials and lighting to see if I can learn something. And of course, I couldn't resist going back and fiddling with the design.

Played with the lighting, and self-illuminating surfaces.

I'm toying with the idea of, sometime later, doing a refit with some Grissom/Excelsior era nacelles

Thanks. I usually don't think much of my Federation ships, but that one's alright.

I'm kinda burned out doing these ships. I've been taking a little break, and I'm planning on a longer one.

This is the most recent one that I haven't posted here. It's an FTL ferry. The perspective settings got a little weird in the third image.

Went back to an older ship and experimented with materials and lighting.

Same again, with a different ship (Caedere).

I've gone back again to a ship called Ouroboros. It's a First Ones ship that has turned out a bit cartoony.

I like that design a lot, and the lighting and materials look really nice.

You should make that ship your thread image, it's so nice.
  • rojrenrojren448 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,553Member
That's an idea. I've been thinking of changing it for a while... maybe years, but never got around to deciding.

I suggest it because a new image will draw more people into your thread. Especially that one.

I still have a few things do do on this. Mostly the control cabin. I need to tone back the colors, and change the lighting too.

Where's the double like button? :) I get that you want to doll it up a little but it still looks terrific as is. At the same time, can't wait to see what you do.

    Thank you. Very much.

I changed the thread thumbnail. I may go back and tweak it.

I really like that design. I know I said so before, but it's worth reiterating. Those renders look great.

Now I'm starting on an update to a ship called Tirade. I need to do something about that color.

Heh, I was going to complement you on your color choices. ;)

I really like that design and the details are fantastic.
  • rojrenrojren448 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,553Member
Okay. I'll keep the color. This is two different versions. The first had a problem, and when I fixed it, I made an error that I liked better than the original.

Done as it's gonna get. Well, crap. I see something I may want to fix.

It's amazing what some materials will do. It looked good before, but it looks great now with the new materials on it.
  • rojrenrojren448 Louisville, Kentucky USAPosts: 1,553Member
The thing I like playing with the best is the transparent and self-illuminating materials. They add a lot of depth.
