    UPDATE...
Got most of the work done on the top of the saucer. I even did a fast test and panels, boy oh boy that’s a lot of work that I might just skip.

It looks great, bro. Paneling to the extent that it looks like you're thinking about doing looks great, but it can be almost as much work as modeling.

Just doing the small amount was a bit of a nightmare and took a long time.
    UPDATE...
Getting what I call the spine of the ship done.

Yeah, I hear you on that one. I've started doing things like that in the past, decided it wasn't worth it and wound up just putting some standard paneling that takes a lot less time on the part.

    The spine is looking great.

    UPDATE...
Started work on the secondary hull.
    3054-1.jpg
I also did a very rough boxing in of a Romulan ship.

I like that rough shape for the Romulan ship. And, of course, the texture work is looking good.

    UPDATE...
Just about done. I don’t think I’ll add much more.

    UPDATE...
Not to crazy about the azteching. It’s just looking far too busy to me but I felt that way about the NX-01.
    3059.jpg
I cut the opacity by 50% and kind of like it better.
    3060.jpg
All I did with this is keep the specular map and I kind of like this.

I agree. Not a huge fan of aztecing. I know the original 'A' filming model was painted that way. The hulls of the biggest carriers in the U.S. fleet do not have azteced hulls. ( just my pet peeve ) Models looks great.

    UPDATE...
I was getting a little burned out on my other ship so I thought I’d test an idea on my Romulan ship.

I like that gradient. And, paneling can definitely burn you out.

Getting that gradient to line up is a pain. Takes a bit of work.
    UPDATE...
Got more work done on my textures. Added a spec map too.

That's a heck of a lot of detail on that Federation ship. Good work!
