Thought I'd share this here. This is the Essex Class Refit... as I see it. The original design is here:

That's pretty sweet. I like the design, both the original and your modified version. I really like what you did with the nacelles.

    I'd prefer nacelles swept upwards

Thanks. I wanted to keep the general feel of the original, but update it to be somewhere near the era of e the Ambassador class.

Some more shots of my progress. Thanks to MadKoiFish's great tutorials, i was able to model the insignia and pennant into the hull. And get the windows I can be proud of. :)

I'm really liking the double necks and those details.

Interesting take. I love the original design, mostly for the thick double neck sections, as evil_genius_180 stated.

I like the ship. The Engines have a retro WWII look to them.

Update: I got the registries done! Here are the shots!

The Registry for the endeavour is, as far as I know, age accurate and cannon, though no class was ever assigned to it. :)

Well, Trek registries in canon are all over the place. Apparently, between the Excelsior (NX-2000) and the Hathaway (NCC-2593) that we know for sure were commissioned in the 2280s and the USS Yamato (NCC-71807) in the early 2360s, there were a lot of ships commissioned. But, that makes sense as the Federation was continuously expanding and commissioning more ships, everything from tiny ships like the runabouts to huge heavy cruisers. That registry you used puts your ship in the same approximate time frame as the Ambassador class, as the USS Yamaguchi had the registry NCC-26510.

By this hull, do you mean the Endurance? Here's the source: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=108258

This was the inspiration for my model!

That fits perfectly with the details, which have an Excelsior and Ambassador vibe to them. :)
