Not getting too much done because I’m spending most of my time cleaning the house. Soon it will time to get another dumpster to get rid of more dead people ****. I did get the textures on the front of the phaser started.

Tried to finish off some textures of my U.S.S. Franklin type ship. It didn’t go that well. Some of the textures are squashed a bit. I may have to give it a rest and re-unwrap it at a later time. I’ll start on another part of the ship.

I was gonna post this yesterday but I didn’t get the chance. So here is the last bit of work done for last month. It’s mostly temporary for now. Just wanted to see if i got the unwrap right.

While doing textures I noticed this area had gone a bit wonky so I decided that rebuilding it would be fast than fixing it. I’ll get back to textures tomorrow.

I finished up the lower saucer and worked on the rim. I need to make a few adjustments to the saucer rim. I might change the texture on the saucer I’m not too sure about right now.
Also added to the lower saucer. Still working on the bussards. The two here are imported from two different ships but they are acting nothing like they did in the files.
Might want to compare the exposure control settings and the image control ramp between the older files and this one. Those can affect glows and other things. Then again that is if your using Mental Ray EC vs the other choices. Wont help anything though if you upgraded max anywhere along the line as many settings change the resulting renders differently so a file mad in 2010 and tuned to render perfectly will look completely different if rendered out in 2013.
Not sure if you work from a new template or have one preset on projects. I saved over the default.max file that it loads as a new project as I change a tonne of settings every time.

Forgot, I still needed to finish the top of the saucer so that’s just what I did. Tomorrow I’ll do the warp engines and I’ll actually be done.

Did some very minor texture work on the warp engines but mainly took care of rooms behind the windows of the secondary hull.

I textured the little thing by the nav dish. I also started on the hull.
Another shot of the hull textures. It’s moving right along.
Finished up the back of the ship and added textures to the impulse engine. I also finally added a name.
I also did the textures on the bridge.
I would say the entire bridge section in done now.
I finished the back of the saucer.
And I also did most the top of the saucer.
Just for the hell of it I decided to do a top down view to make make sure things look right.
I finished up the top of the saucer by adding some black squares and doing textures for the first step up on the saucer.
I also started on the lower saucer. I also realised it should be 1706 not 1701 so I’ll have to fix a few things.

Pretty much done with the basic textures. Just need to tweak a few things and then I can start adding a small amount dirt and grime.

You know your nacelles have the reg of NCC-1706 while your saucer is NCC-1701.
