Hey everyone! It’s been a while! Now that my toddler gives me more than 5 minutes to myself I figure it’s time to get back into work. So my goal this year is to teach myself Blender. So far so good. Here’s what I’m currently working on.

detailing is slow but I'm getting the hang of it. I need to figure out how to do some scripting in Blender.

You're not wrong, but what you script for this?

What I wanted to do, was to create a custom button in the UI that created my panels, by insetting my selected faces and then extruding by a certain amount. Would make for a nice time saver.

As for tonight, decided to mess around with my WIP lighting.

To paraphrase Captain John Harriman, "Oh the shuttlebay? That gets installed on Tuesday."

Really nice work on this. It's unconventional but still fits really well with the rest of the designs. Nice work!

Sometimes when you need inspiration, it’s fun to Sketch on your renders

    Good work all around Justin.
I think the weapons pod is a good addition. Go ahead! ;)

As this ship comes closer to completion, like any ship it deserves a naming ceremony. This one for me is a little more personal.

As you know, our long-time member and friend Jay "Nightshadow" Seals passed away from cancer in October.

After his death, I decided to honor his memory in the best way I knew how. Building a ship for him.

    I present the U.S.S. Nightshadow.

Beautiful, the pod perfectly balances the ship.
Also, I only just now noticed how unique the saucer rim is, great design!

I thought I had commented before but it's been an off couple of weeks for me lol

I love this design and it's a great tribute! I wasn't sure about it at first but it's definitely grown on me. Very cool to see your process with it as well!

I'm working on a fan edit of Star Trek in the future.
You wouldn't mind if I got a copy of that Mesh would you?
For one I'm in love with it.
  • GuerrillaGuerrilla348 HelsinkiPosts: 2,369Administrator
Please don't ask for meshes in people's project threads. Releasing is up to the artist and not really something that they should have to discuss in their project threads.

You can check out the forum information for WIP here and all the rules here for future reference.
