3DStar Trek Constellation

Hi All. Long time since I've posted, I think.

I'm working on a CG model of the original AMT model of the Star Trek Enterprise. The most famous use of this kit was as the U.S.S. Constellation in The Doomsday Machine. I've been using David Shaw's plans of the kit for reference.

I'm just about finished modeling. (I'm going to do some retopology on some of it.) Then at some point I'll cut it up to be the nearly destroyed Constellation.

When I'm done I want to add enough detail to the shape of the AMT kit to see what it could look like if it had the same level of detail as the 11 foot hero model of the Enterprise.

Thanks. I was without a modeling computer for a bit. I should be able to continue with this now.

Thank you. This is the first time I've ever tried doing damage. Yikes!

Why did you start over? I mean, both ways, you were doing FANTASTIC work!

I went back and made the pieces to match the AMT kit. For example the bridge, the BC deck, and the upper saucer are now all one piece and have the softer edges to match.

I don't know if I said it here, but the intention is to build an AMT version, matching what's on screen as close as I can (or want to) and then go back and build an "11 foot" version, looking more like if they had had a second 11 foot model of the Enterprise to vandalize. We'll see if I my appetite doesn't outrun my interest.

Nice thing is that I've got enough projects going at the moment that I can usually find something I'm not bored with. ADD: Attention Deficit SQUIRREL!

This makes me really miss the AMT kit my Dad made for me, so long ago.
