What program do I need to open files in .3ds? I have 3ds max 9..but I can't open them with that.

    You need to use import to open the .3ds in max, not open. (File menu, import and whala!)

    god, how far does .3ds go back anyways? *lol* it's about as standard now as .doc and .jpg :D now all we need is for microsoft to start using it and make it unreadable by any legacy applications :fishslap:

    Autodesk (...,discreet, kinetix or whatever theyA’re called this week) already managed to do that pretty well with the .max files.
