3ds Max 7 error

I have made a scene in 3ds 7, and when I rendered it, background was there, all good and nice.
saved it and it worked, however when I e-mailed a friend it was missing, is this a known bug, or just a random freak occurance?

    check "Open Recent" in the File menu...it should be there if you saved it

    or, you can check your autoback directory if that's the last scene you worked on

    Um, no if its a image used as a backdrop you HAVE to send that image and keep the same file structure or max wont find it. IE linked files. The images are all linked in max and are not embedded in the max file.

    ah ok...i misunderstood the question....thought he said he lost the scene
