Another thing about the engines/feet (and Master File)....
Master File, while a gem of information, is, to my knowledge, not officially canon. The fact you've made your model look this damn good & vritually identical to OVA/Movie canon, is far more a credit to you, than to the Master File (minus my minor gripes about the feet and the back-thruster).
As for the feet/engines, I take it you didn't realize that the YF-19's engines themselves are internally mounted on rails, just like the VF-25 and VF-31, and when the feet are extended 'down' for GERWALK & Battroid mode, also slide down with them. They just didn't implement it into the models until the Frontier stuff came along and Arcadia put out its YF-19/VF-19EX.
EDIT:
That has to be the most realistic (and flat out gorgeous) afterburner effect I've ever seen.

That makes a lot more sense, rails! By any chance do you have images of the Arcadia VF-19EX to see how they look like? I might be able to change that.
Thanks for the info!
Shaders and normal maps updated for the cockpit:
Then I did some shots with DOF, and it looks like a scale model! Not ideal, but still cool!
My head exploded looking at the rigging. That cockpit is the sickest. I need to study your exhaust nodes. Blender is a very powerful tool in the hands of someone that knows how to use it.
Hey all, I haven't been around in a while, but that doesn't mean I've been away from this project, it was just my computer taking ages to render things out:
Posts
The startup sequence based on the film
I made a stereoscopic crosseye 3d image! (just cross your eyes)
Added navigation lights on the tips of the wings, controllers to turn them on/off
A few renders with some nice DOF
The cockpit section with HDRI reflections
Added formation lights, stroboscopic lights and controllers for all of these
The problem was that at a certain angle, it didn't look good because you could see the individual planes
Then I tried using a shader and a single cone mesh, like they do in games, I added geometries to create the glowing disk effects
But it didn't look good yet, so I got rid of the geometries and replaced it with changes in the opacity of the shader
