Well, it was hard to tell if you were serious about the "heck no."
Too bad, I love vehicles that transform into robots, though I'm not a Macross fan. I don't dislike it, I just don't know much about it. I knew what this was and that it transforms, but that's about the limit of my knowledge.
Umm, why not just go with the VF-0A Phoenix? Its roughly the same scale as an IRL fighter, if slightly shorter (the F-14 that all VFs are effectively based upon is still larger), and has about an 85% identical layout for how it both looks visually, and transforms, when compared to the VF-1 series. Well, as long as you're not looking at the VF-0D, with its delta wing.
(warning, I'm a massive fan, so I'm likely going to go into ludicrous levels of detail here that really aren't needed at all)
The VF-1 series is specifically supposed to be smaller, due to Earth having not quite figured out how to make larger thermonuclear engines designed for small craft, at that time. Either it was VF-1 sized, which is why the shuttles all have tons of engines, or it skipped up to the size found on the Oberths, ARMDs, and the SDF-01 itself. It wasn't until a decade after Earth got glassed that they started building VFs that even came close to the size of modern day fighters. Heck, the VF-5000 Star Mirage is actually shorter then the VF-1 by about three-quarters of a meter.
Valkyrie! When you absolutely, positively have to look like an ostrich wearing shoulder pads doing mach 6 while still sitting on the ground, accept no substitute!

Heck no! What kind of work ethic do you think I've got?!
Ah. That was a literal "heck no"
Gerwalk/Jet mode only. I haven't got time for anything else.

Some day I'll get around to that ultra-detailed SDF-1 Macross model I've long yearned to do...

I didn't notice until now.
eosmusashi's recent awesomeness prompted me to dust off my VF-1D and try out some cartoony shaders.
