Idea/Concept. ^^^

Edge of Darkness

Scenes have a dual like atmosphere/background
Ships position and preparing for what could be a major fleet engagement.
--- there are many blank spaces in this video---

I have began a remake of a video I made couple years ago.
Completely Re-Textured the TanJ Hyades Battlestar in this video.
Went thru every poly-selection. Changed most mats and added channels and corrected
all the projections and attribute parameters.
Re-did the textures on the Raider, the TOS Raider also.

I initially was going to let the title/intro be silent.
But, there were a couple of tracks still in the old Sony project file.So, I listened to them.
And it was like litn' man. Impact Title FTW
I made that Intro Title Audio with like 5-6 samples in just a few minutes and it was all
fittin like a glove the very first try.

Well, I just viewed the rendered video in WMP
and man, I got ring around the Atmospheres...:( , see they are not present in the raw render or in the preview,
wished I knew how to correct whatever is causing this, because many of the images are very pleasing to me
but are not what is getting rendered out of Vegas.
If I do any weapons in this, I am thinking of trying something new and different for myself and not of the normal
bullets. Was thinking of actual laser light shots like in the old sci fi tv shows. or in realistic terms, a real laser beam..:)
A grand spectacle of laser light beams.



I am Appx 373 frames away from what I beleive to be the final render for the Star Wars fanfilm opening shot
I am also making.
And also Zebra-Who's behind the door I have tweeked some...but this one I want more.

    well, may be not a thing I can do about it.

    the shorter version..added. Trying to figure out why Sony is rendering out worse than the raw render.
    The only solution I found is render uncompressed...yeah right, and upload a 80 GB video would take weeks.,

    was not really anticipating a Landing Bay Shot, and after watching the shoddy video <chuckling>
    It needed some more attention.... before and after pics below.






    Am downloading Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum..
    because anything and everything I have tried, to include other files and projects,
    are rendering out like crap with my old Sony Vegas Pro 8. < didn't realize apps break lol>

    Made some other improvements I hope in several of the clips..will post a much better Wip video soon.

    Of the Hyades Model as it was in the first video I made.
    Which is basically how it was before re-tex for this video.

    I have 2 clips been burnin lotsa hours on.

    One is a fly in and then a tractor beam grabs at the Raider and then the raider breaks loose.
    --been having a time with this one. Seems the more I do to improve/change the look,
    --the worse it has gotten. Currently ready for a 5th run on this clip. -reason> Tweaking the textures/mats on the Hyades.

    2nd one is a Buuty I tink. Raider Twist and turn firing.
    -- This I came up with really by accident. I was thinking of doing something
    ( which I have since forgot) and somehow this happened. ( you will understand when animated)
    --Then I added 2 Big ships, and Sky Atmos and a Planet.

    Be a while before I have a rendered clip....so some pics. :)


    I added a Mesh and a Mat with a gradient ( animated) and Used the Points
    to try and curve onto the Raider itself,, and I like how it came out :D

    This was test upload, and the Ytube upload was frakked...so I uploaded it to Vimeo to see how things are.

    Good News...I figured out what is the Ghostly Sheen After Images Blocks......
    All the times I have RT Clk and "Show Help" , somehow I must have overlooked "Dithering".
    In the Sky tab of the Physical Sky object in C4d. Right there it says helps correct that very thing.

    Now we are Re- rendering after trying it out. It helps. With some adjusts to Intensities and other attributes,
    Am currently re rendering most scenes,which are same as but not included in this video.

    Made an upload to see how the new rendering with Dithering maxed.

    It certainly helped, but is still irritating me on how to fix and keep the look.
    -- I do not want to try and make a texture for the background.
    Am thinking of trying some volumetric lights that are visible...but, pretty sure
    I may run into the dithering, because the Sky issue is also a light source actually.

    Added a Logo Animation at end. This is far from finished.
    Am tweaking mats/tex whenever I can. Also, trying for different looks.

    @Mike TY, it is TanJ I believe, the Hyades BS. that made the model.

    One Animation. 2 clips. AM undecided which I prefer.
    I can maybe tweak the clip more once I figure out which one I will use....:)
    I been messing with Mats/Tex..and again Thanks.
