(Blender 3D) Determining an emitting point for Physics?

So, here's my dilemma; I'm working on a scene that revolves around a fighter taking off from a shielded base.. however, while I was able to solve the physics problem on the fighters, I can't seem to figure out the problem with the shield.

You see right now I am experimenting with Blenders physics engine to create and create a shield dome that appears after the fighter leaves his base, the dome is supposed to start at the 'center' point of the shield; meaning the area right above where the shield generators dish is located.

However, instead the dome deploys off to the far left. Is it possible to tell Blender 'where' you want the physics to actually 'start' at? Such as how I want shields to actually start at a very specific location instead of at the edge of the mesh (but rather, in the middle of it)
