Working on a Remake of the spaceship from the "Frogs", an Alien Lifeform in the 60s German TV-Show "Raumpatrouille Orion". The original model looks more than a simple paper flyer (the design is reflecting the production style of Scifi movies in Germany at that time). The new model will have some more details. Last year I have modelled the main spaceship of this serial new- with some changes. So I thought to do this with the enemy ship too.
Nice idea, though I'm not too sure about the main body at the moment.
One of the things which defined the look of those ship was the round "drop" as a counter point to the pointy "wings".
Next step. Just working on the top part. It is my first model made completely with spline modelling. I never have paid attention to it- And now I like it much!
Chanur: Yes, nice work on the "Hydra II". Like it much!
Some new photos of work on details. Now the containers are connected and the stripes at the rear of the ship are in the right angle and length. Not to see: The communication dish is placed on a different spot at the front part. Today I will cut out some space for the cockpit. After it there is only some work on details necessary and the mirroring of some parts. Then, finally, I will start with the texturing.
Thanks friends for the pleasant comments!
Here are the last render of it with the final shape. It was my purpose from the beginning of the process to give the hull the glass material like in the original models of the show. This gives the ship an interesting see through effect now.
