if you're meaning the one used in generations, and then voyager and ds9, then no - I have this model and it's much more accurate than that
I would say it's cg, but it's not a model I recognise
season 2 trailer is very cool btw
Yea, that's the model I was thinking, given the shape of the bussards... as for the generations model, how is the bussard texture done... I've been trying to find a good shot of the bussard, from other than it's production use, like on Drex Files, since there's a load of CG perspectives of other models, like Voyager, Enterprise E, etc. but none of the Galaxy Class...
I'll ask the Okuda's about it... they've replied to the questions I've posted on their Facebook page...
I agree, the Season 2 trailer is wow, wish the Season 1 trailer was a little more like Season 2's... with more oomph.

The reason the Season 2 video is no longer available, I got an email from that Adam over at TrekCore, telling me he received an urgent communication from CBS that the Season 2 trailers are all to be removed from the site as there have been multiple postings on YouTube...
So, we will have to wait until CBS officially releases the trailer, which may be a while. So, I guess whomever got to see it, consider yourselves lucky.

Sorry for the SD quality, got this video from another source. I hate interlaced video, so when the BR comes out, and I get it, I'll upload a higher quality comparison clip... these source clips wouldn't make a difference next to the original, in terms of clarity.

Pictures aren't in Full HD, because these I uploaded to my Facebook... TrekCore will have Full HD shots from The Naked Now, soon.
The new explosion of the Tsiolkovsky in "The Naked Now" is a but over the top...
They also changed the explosion in "Heart of Glory" from the way it looked in the trailer...
Now this doesn't make sense... why did they need to replace the exact same shots in other episode with a CG model when they have the stock shot right here... here is the original shot remastered from "Heart of Glory."

That's definitely the original model. Maybe they used CG to help make convincing lighting effects in those shots, but didn't matte out the rest of the ship so it would mostly be the original. I'm still curious as to where this not-so-good model came from.

Yes, I know it's the original 6 foot model in the second and last shots in my last post, but the same stock shot used in the last image, was a stock shot used in Encounter at Farpoint, but they use a CG model replacement in that shot...
I can only assume they couldn't find the original footage at the time, so re-created it, and later found the footage, but it's already too late to change the older episode

Yea, but I must say the remastered original shots looks amazing, it's amazing how much the deflector dish area looks so different in all the remastered shots.
How exactly do they overlay self illumination passes, as in what transfer method do they use...

First video from my collaboration with Adam over at TrekCore. Stay tuned, we're doing all 26 season 1 episodes... well 25 if you mash Encounter at Farpoint into 1 big episode...

Yeah, Wil hasn't really changed much since his TNG days. The dude that they got for Hide and Q was taller and more muscular with a more chiseled face. Realistically, there was no chance that Wil was ever going to become that guy. By the time you're in your teens, you pretty much look like you're going to as an adult. Though, it was funny to see that dude and hear Wil's teenage voice coming out when he spoke.

That's how it was intended to be seen. It was just split up for the reruns. I won't say "syndication," because the entire series was run in syndication.
Here in Australia it was available 1st August, I had my copy pre-ordered so that it was meant to be sent out the day before release here, just checked with the supplier as the status said it had not been sent yet, turns out it had already been recalled as a result of the audio problems, now a 4 week wait apparently............. FML

Well, it's best to wait for the proper audio... of course I've seen people who've already shared them via the interwebs... just saying.

A little comparison video I did... more to come...
The quality difference is phenomenal... even for the simplest stuff, like Data's skin color...
Note, YouTube really fudges the quality... and in IE9 the video is cropped, so instead of widescreen, it becomes full screen stretching the picture, thus making even the HD blurry...

Guess we have the answer now as to what that funny looking shot of the enterprise is from. T'was a matte painting.

Well, for the opening shot of Sins of the Father, it's just Tobias' CG models... so, I'm not sure what determines a digital matte painting from just a CG composite...
As for the one CG model used in the energy beam shot in EaF, I still haven't a clue whose it is... however, they did find the original model recordings and it was used in a later episode, but I guess they didn't go back to the previous 2 episodes and replace the CG model shot with the model model shot.

Also, since CBS didn't create remastered trailers, I thought I would. Though some shots may contain title credits, whereas the original trailer didn't, since it was the shots prior, but all things considering it's not that big of a deal.
I also recreated the end video, very simply in 3D Studio Max...
