I think I have my overall look for the project, now it's a matter of getting all of the necessary materials. I plan to use Marc Bell's glorious Romulan D'Deridex once it's completed. More to come. 😃
Here is the original project I did years ago:

Great work Chris, your new one easily shows how much you've improved... there's nothing wrong with the original one you did.... you can just see that you've leveled up since then
only thing id say is would it be worth upping the fill light a little on the enterprise.. just to brighten those shadowy areas slightly?

Yea, the original pass out of Max comes out rather bright, so I tone it down a little, I might up it just a tad.

With the release of Marc's Warbird, my first full shot is relatively completed, just a teaser for now folks. 🙂 The final final shot will have the warp engines casting lights. 😛

Love what you're doing with the lighting and post processing in these.
I always liked the dynamic shots 'The Defector' had, very unique for TNG (also must have been really expensive lol).

There may be one more teaser after this... don't want to give away all my cards at once. :P
The starbase interior pass took the better part of 12 hours to render, as I had originally just used the same lighting setup I did for my STIV Ending, but it felt too flat and not very "atmospheric" inside... so I did some lighting effects and stuff to add some depth. I also upped the bump/normal mapping so the walls have more detail and adjusted the curves on the diffuse texturing so the colors had more contrast.
Also, the previous teaser shots I've done so far:
I took someone's advice in the comments and thus the second version of the shot.

So, I was trying to create my own, but it wasn't looking that good, so I decided to do some fancy shit with the one from the movie, as the effect itself isn't that bad, so I created this, rather than have 2 shots with a cut, I just created one long shot that spans both of them.

With Redshift finally having a hobbyist/individual license option that's affordable, I switched to Redshift and wow!
So, I've been slowly tweaking models using Redshift, so with my current project the DS9 credits, I've been tinkering with Chris Kuhn's mindblowing Defiant which was retextured by Marc Bell. So, I replaced the deflector with a more miniature accurate design and added the refection and reflection to it, and just recently did the same thing with the bussards, made it refractive with the texture, then put a fully illuminated oval shaped half-sphere behind it to give it a hot spot with depth as the camera angle moves.

I decided to completely remove all the materials from Raul Mamoru's model and start from scratch to remove all non-Redshift materials, and here's the results so far... still some work to go, mostly re-adding all the lights. I'm using physical lights for the navs inside a refractive dome, which illuminates the glass dome and the hull at the same time, rather than using a separate material and light... and I'm blown away by the results so far. 😮

I thank NeonVisual for lending me their wormhole FX, will continue to do some R&D for my own wormhole effects in the future for other angles.
This isn't finished however, this is just a quick current state full video of the title sequence, as you know, I love showing my progress as things go through various iterations.
Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, the music had to be removed, I am looking at alternatives such as remixes or covers people have made to substitute over the original.

When you gotta piece together explosion VFX so it looks more massive than it really is because the stock elements don't last long enough. lol However, these are the current shots as they stand right now... still much to add to each one.

Someone suggested it, so, I tried making this shot more dynamic than the original... might still tweak it before it's fully finalized, as the alignment of the first version of the shot faked distance and such to match the original shot as best as possible. So, I'm having to adjust paths to match the shot and provide proper motion around the ships and such.

After switching to Redshift as my renderer, I figured doing cinematically accurate shots using the ISD and other Star Wars ships would be easier, because of all the surfaces that cause GI bounces, etc. on a CPU renderer, that was taxing a lot. Here's my first shot using Redshift and a Star Wars ship. Only thing not originally created by me is the model and the background.

Slowly making progress on this... between work, gaming, etc. I rarely have time to do a lot of 3D stuff since it does take a lot of computer time.
