Now that you mention it, someone should make an X-Files episode in which Fox and Scully try to find out whether a human being can make such an awesome model

quick question..why do you have cracks going down from the top to the bottom of the building going trough window frames and such?
  • [Deleted User][Deleted User]2 Posts: 3Member

I like the way it looks with the cracks. It makes it look like an old photo.

That's so easy to fix (just crop the crack out at a minimum) there's really no reason not to, especially given that it really jumps right out and screams at you. ;-) Other than that, the renders look spectacular.

    Looks great.

I notice that with your Crack textuer, it repeats itslef. Is that the same with the finished meshes?

very bad news, i had a fatal system crash last night and all my model data were deleted :(
    no joke. :( :( :(

and i havent got any backup or so...
  • seanrseanr1113 Brooklyn, NYPosts: 599Member
Why does no one ever back their **** up? It's not that hard to get an external drive and run an automated nightly backup to it (I use Karen's Replicator). It's a shame to lose one of the coolest projects on these forums in quite some time simply for failing to back it up.
  • gpdesignergpdesigner203 MontrealPosts: 323Member
    well that just sucks . . . .
have the data retrieved! It may cost a bit of cash but if you have other stuff on you disc that is important, retrieval may be worth it.

Ouch. Well, if anything, this just reminds us all to make backups. I'm another one of those people who never gets round to it and I know one day it'll cost me.

At least you have the renders saved on here to look back on.
