I'm starting to suspect real photography and clever post-production photoshopping :flippy::devil: (there's a compliment in there somewhere:D)

@Freak: Dont worry, Tovette, or Samurai is sure to pop their head in here soon. when they do, they will see overwhelming support in favor of a HEADER. :)

What do they call that thing in soccer when a player heads the ball?

    Oh, yeah, header.

I've finished the "landing pad" baseplate and I've started the other one (with the hills and craters) - I should be able to show something soon.

It's all rendered out really well, I'm forgetting that it's CG (it is CG right?!?!) and thinking, "man, I wish I had that lego with me".
  • WizWiz28 Posts: 0Member
Really nice renders (I keep sayin that in this thread lol) but they truly are, you have captured the materials really well matey!

    :)

 Thanks again! Still some tweaking to do, but I think that it's working out. I finished the antenna thing last night and did some more on the baseplates as well - I'll try to post something when I get home tonight. I still have to make the white and yellow minifigs to go along with the red one as well.

I wonder which one I should do next? Any preferences?

    I've NEVER EVER had a link that made me feel ancient until this one. :( I've owned & still have pieces of sets 442, 452, 885, 886, 889, 6801, 6822, 6823, & 6880.

I request the 6880 Surface Explorer set, even though I have fond memory's of playing with the fugly Rocket Sled. :)

It's ironic that someone named "chronos" is feeling old. :) The Surface Explorer was nice, and I agree - the Rocket Sled was ugly!

Did you get something other than the ability to model better than photorealistic models of LEGOs for selling your soul to the Devil ? :shiner:

    (amazing figures BTW :p)

Nice work, I always wondered on the reasoning why they would use the colour of lego skin for the spacesuit, now it looks like hes naked with a chest tattoo.

Shouldnt those ray guns have a clear bit in the front?

Looking excellent BTW, cough header cough

You're right, he does look naked, he has got to be cold up there on the moon. :) A lot of the kits that I had back then didn't call for a clear piece at the end of the gun like they do now, but you're right, it would spice it up a bit - maybe I'll add it.

    @somacruz145: :lol: Thank you!

Well, you have kids, no? Just wait untill they're out of the just-eating-and-excreting-larva-stage and become interactive, then you'll have a very excuse in the world do dust off your lego. ;)

Playing with my old classic space Lego with my son is exactly what inspired me to start this project, as a matter of fact.
