like the new turrets intresting concept also like the paneling I was going to ask since it doesn't have viper does it have docking ports for raptors or can they fit through the large airlocks
  • backsteptbackstept1709 Posts: 871Member
there's room enough for a raptor to dock in the starboard 'eye' cutout in the alligator head

and here's paneling attempt number two

I was wondering what purpose do you imagine she serves in a fleet. is it support? Seems a bit light in cannon huh? just wondering.
  • backsteptbackstept1709 Posts: 871Member
yeah, since it's got the big dish and the 'dradomes' it's probably got a good ECM capability
    jamming, dradis decoys etc
it's also got a variety of armaments: AA/CIWS, KEW cannons, and missiles/torpedoes
  • aylaa12aylaa120 Posts: 0Member
in principle it is best related to a frigate given its armaments, maybe then again can also be escort picket line defense or even patrol ship given the armaments she well fits these categories

Good show! I was starting to think BSG was fading from interest. If you could, from time to time, during you progress, give a few pointers
on adding detail and such, that would be cool. I'd like to try a colonial cap ship after I do my Viper, but have no idea how to do such a big
ship. You guys are amazing, in that you make it look so easy. :) I'll be following this one. Kudos!

ItA’s surelly different from the original. Looks like another class in fact. In the 80A’s a brazilian translation of an old novel from Isaac Asimov (Buy Jupiter!), had a ship in the front cover that resembles the actual shape of yours. I attached the pic, cause I believe it can give you inspiration to built two different classes. :D

:D I love old scifi book covers!
they don't make them like they used to, that's for sure

working on the back end a bit . . . still needs a lot of tweaking, and still need to flesh out the engine pod area
