I know that a new movie is coming out but Im more interested in seeing what happens with these models once they are finished. I have so many story ideas in my head when I look at these ships.

    Looks good so far.

Very nice as usual, I like your cuts, though I can see some slight segmentation in some places. Have you thought about giving it a little something more, like different colour segments: It somewhat reminds me of the Sovereign belly. Some windows on there would really sell it too.

    Keep up the good work!
  • XFozzbouteXFozzboute654 Posts: 1,627Member
Yeah I noticed the segmenting awhile ago but I can live with it.
I will definately place windows and a few other things I just wanted to get the gridlines done first.

    Thank you.

    UPDATE...
    More lifeboats.

And an idea for another docking port. I thought in drydock amagnetic arresting arm could attach here. The actuall port would be flush to the hull this is just a mockup.

Looks great Xfozzboute. I was wondering if the deflector housing is in a finished stage or rather in its final position. Its probably just me but with all those gracefull lines up on the bow it seems that the deflector being out as far as it is is taking something away from the elegant "swoop".

I understand what you are saying. I'm still thinking about what if any changes to make. I don't want it sticking out too much but I don't want it to be pulled in too much either.

Haha. I will leave all creative aspects up to you sir. Damn cool ship you got there Xfozzboute!

Nice work, but I would suggest that this docking port on the top of the front deck is rather a turbolift port. No dock-ship would be able to land there and the no personnel would be able to get into the ship this way.

most turbolift ports that are normally exposed to space, typically double as airlock modules, and thus, by direct extension, as docking ports.

remember, just because a given hatch doesnt have a docking collar doesnt mean a shuttle or transfer pod cant use it as a docking port, just means no hard latch capabilities.

Plus that sort of docking port could be designed with a not seen before shuttle in mind like an assualt shuttle which has a docking collar on the bottom or top (like the shuttles from ST Inserection or ENT)

    UPDATE...
Sorry for the lack of updates but I somehow actually got some paying work.
    Anyway, more lifeboats.

I shortened the deflector dish and changed the nipple in the center of it to be more of a dish.

Sweet...This is the best and most original Trek design I have seen in a while.

I haven't read through the entire thread, but I assume the bridge and drive section can separate from the boat shaped hull? If so, where is engineering and the warp core located?
  • XFozzbouteXFozzboute654 Posts: 1,627Member
The bridge can seperate to be either the captains yacht or a lifeboat.

Engineering is right behind the shuttle bay.
