How do I reset the animation keyframes in 3DS Max 8?

I did one animation, liked it, then added a new segment. Whenever I turn on Auto Key, move the piece into place, then advance the time line to the appropriate place, it "remembers" the old movements.

I've gone through and deleted the key frames. There are no marks on the time line at the bottom (1 to 100 - no marked spots for key frames).

I've gone into Time Configuration and no joy. I've changed the number of frames, hoping it would make it "forget" - nope.

I'm sure it's simple (hope, hope), but I can't sort it out.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I think I had SOME objects selected when I deleted the key frames. So.... SOMETHING was moving, but not the entire model.

    Man, that looked weird.

    At least I learned something

I think you can reset the scene, and keep objects and hierarchy when the aplication asks for it. When Max reset the scene, you have all your meshes but the animatins are totally gone.
