Well, mostly completed anyways.
Pardon the long absence, but as you will see, I have been busy.
First, a light tank. Parts of it is lacking shading/details in some areas, but you can at least tell what it would look like. This was nonetheless some great practice in regards to speed-sketching/coloring.
The main chain gun is a nod to the Shadow Fox from Zoids, while the colors are based a little bit on the old school Blue Zoids.
One of my first attempts at architecture design, as part of an interview process. Some sort of fusion power plant I think. The exhausts on the four corners vent excess heat.
The darker side was never finished, and lacks the windows and sensors of the side facing closest, but this was only meant to be finished quickly as a test run.
A small semi truck that I worked on as part of a job interview process, and probably one of my best works to date. I applied pretty much everything that I knew about coloring and shading up to this point.
In the end, this version was rejected, as it was determined that a joined truck/tank would be better.
A variant version of the semi. The tank section is joined directly to the truck itself. Its supposed to be a future truck, and probably carries some sort of frozen hydrogen slurry for fuel cells.
The spoiler at the end of the cabin is a tip of the hat to the spoiler on the Blade Liger.
Client wanted a longer version, and so I tripled the length! I almost forgot to mention the equipment locker that I originally added to the compact version.
Turns like the Titanic, but delivers your desired liquids in bulk!
I tried to go all out with the shading and lighting, because I still feel that this is a weakness on my part. I even added ladders, although I should have added access hatches of some kind too, even if they wouldn't have shown up after turning it into a sprite!
Pretty happy with how it came out, and the whole design process took less than a week to complete!

This was actually created for this months VGen Art Challenge, with the theme being "A Sea of Stars". Surprisingly, I couldn't find any other entries that explored a science fiction aspect of that challenge! I briefly considered illustrating Atlantis from Stargate in a similar fashion, but figured that such a complex structure, with all of those damned towers, would be far too complex!
An Andromeda-class Battleship from Space Battleship Yamato/Starblazers. One of the cool things about starships from that setting is that they seem to do just fine floating on a sea as well as among the stars. For a short while, I was going to do the Yamato herself, but fell in love with the Andromeda's design while watching 2202.
The name Atlantis is a two-fold reference: the Ancient Lost City, both in real life and the Ancient flying city from Stargate, and the Space Shuttle. The registry number AAA-0051 is a reference to the shuttles maiden launch (STS-51-J).
The starscape is a direct reference to the beautiful background used in the opening of the second season, while the color scheme used for Atlantis is a duplicate of the Aldebaraan, which I thought looked so noble, I just fell in love with it, and quite frankly wish Starfleet would do something similar in Star Trek! The glowing parts of the ship are taken from a scene early in the second season, where the Andromeda is shown with a plethora of landing/formation lights, and thought "hey, that'd look so cool if it were lit while landed in the sea!"
Of course, I doubt any stars would actually show up on a sea, what with Atlantis lit up like a Christmas tree, and emitting a ton of light pollution, but eh, #artistic license!
