AnimationSpace Shuttle Rescues Astronaut From a Falling Orbit on Mars! sci-fi

Just an animation I made for fun. I figured it falls under sci-fi since we'll never see a shuttle fly again, much less orbit mars lol! It's a bit slow paced at times, but hope you enjoy it. Rendered in Lightwave. Planet is a mesh sphere with DEM maps applied on. Atmosphere was made using Lightwave's volumetric effects.

Shuttle model is from nasa free 3d resources.

It has something of that epic 70s era SciFi in the vein of 2001: A Space Odyssey, or The Black Hole.

Glad you liked it! The Black Hole had some amazing soundtrack, and miniature effects.

Like in Moonraker…you have the three SSMEs burning with no External Tank. Should have been Buran :)

Someone mentioned this in the comments in yt, that the only two engines that should lit are the top smaller units. Wasn't aware of it. BUT, since this is a "highly modified martian shuttle", NASA was able to incorporate fuel into the wings of the shuttle! lol ;)
