Hmm ... I can’t say, that I see the resemblance. I actually used this one as a reference:

    That's a nice shuttle design. :)

Those fully realized interiors really sell the sense of scale of this model. Great work!

Little view of the backside. Still needs a lot more Detailing.

It looks good. I like it better with two windows than three.

Trying out a control room above the shuttle bay. I'm happy with the Idee, however the execution does not work for me.

I've since changed it to a more - for the lag of a better word - "edgy" design, that works a little better. But I'm still not entirely happy with it. Here's a quick little render of it:

And here's just another render with a different lighting setup. At least I can't say there's no progress =)

I definitely like the second one better, so you're headed in the right direction. :)

I agree the second control room look much better.

The new control room inside and out. Took me forever to get it where I want it (blender crashing without having saved, didn't help either :# ) ... in the End I think, the simpelest shape worked best. Still needs some furniture and equipmet though ...

Program crashes with unsaved work are the bane of every modeler's existence. Did you try the "Recover Last Session" option? It doesn't always work with crashes, but it's saved my bacon more than once.

It was about an hours work. But I started over so often within that hour, that it wasn‘t too much lost work. And modeling something a second time ist often faster and cleaner (at least for me) ... so I went that way 😁

It still sucks to lose work. But, these things happen to us all.

I added some details to the shuttlebay. It's a little dark, but that's easyly fixed with another Light on the ceiling. Or maybe it just was the nightshift :p

That shuttlebay looks great! I love the walls curving into the floor, a small touch, but very TOS.

Started working on main engeneering. Still a little dark and the room in the back looks like it's haunted, but that's nothing, that can't be fixed.

Since properly raytracing interiors takes forever on my notebook, I just removed the ceiling for the second picture and let the sund do the work :-D

That's looking great so far. I see you went with the later crystal chamber thing and split console with the upper area.

Yeah. Since I’m not doing this with any plan whatsoever, most of the layout comes from necessity. I build the Two corridors on the very Top of the Engeneering Hull first. And the only volume big enough to put the engine room was between them. Since the engine room encompasses two levels I needed a way to get in the Room and get to the lower level. Hence the split consoles and - still to add - ladder 😁

Didn't really have time to do something today, so here's another more detailed angle of the still way to sunny engine room from yeserday

Just wondering, have you done any other TOS ships in addition to this and the Bonaventure?

(I picked that one b/c it's Mugato, so... you know, keeping it on brand. It's also true)

Thanks. I want to do a deck-by-deck sovereign class somewhere down the line. But I‘m only using blender for three month now, so every model is pretty much a testbed for some new modeling technique or a way of doing certain aspects of a ship.

Sovereign is endgame for me as well. Well, TMP Connie is my favorite but that one is done :) Need to do the other Enterprises first though, otherwise I'll never get to them.
